2023 was a huge winter in Jackson Hole, we skied powder more days than I could count, it was amazing. These are some of my favorite lines skiing in the backcountry of Jackson Hole. With all the snow, it made it hard to ski above treeline, but on the few days we did, it was awesome. In early February I was caught in an avalanche and dislocated my shoulder. I was lucky enough to only take a few weeks off doing physical therapy, and was able to finish the season. The doctor said that if I were to crash on my arm, I would likely need surgery right away and my season would be over. So the remainder of the winter was mellow for me, with no huge cliffs to jump off, but still managed to ski a bunch of fun lines.

Skiing some of the best backcountry lines in Jackson Hole. It was a rough winter for snow and weather, we had a slow start and lots of wind, and quite a few of my favorite Jackson lines never filled in enough to hit. I looked elsewhere for snow, including Canada, Alaska, and even Argentina. Everywhere I went, we had fun skiing, but still dealt with avalanche issues and hard layers underneath which kept me from hitting the big cliffs I love. It’s better to wait another year than get injured doing it in the wrong conditions. It was the first season I partnered with Meier skis to build and test my own pro-model ski, named the “Leeper”! The zebra print in a few of the videos is the prototype I tested. We designed it with the ideal dimensions I love for skiing big mountain lines in Jackson Hole, 114mm underfoot. Check out more info at Meier Skis.

It was still a super fun season with great locations and skiing with friends. Best of all got to marry Haley and ski down from the top of Jackson Hole! Haley also designed a bunch of new gear I use including shirts, mugs, sweatshirts, and neck gaiters that are available in my shop

FULL THROTTLE

Skiing backcountry, hitting cliffs, and couloirs around Jackson Hole in my edit “Full Throttle” from the 2021 season.  Jackson Hole had an epic winter with their third snowiest February ever! We were skiing amazing powder all month and had some epic days on Cody peak in March when the sun came out. I threw one of my biggest front flips in the Targhee backcountry on the sendiest day of the season! I also had a very close call in one of the tight couloirs where I barely saved it on one ski or I would have crashed into the rock wall. Luckily I managed to get my skis under me before having to clear the rocks at the bottom.

Gettin’ Sendy

Sking my favorite lines, cliffs and couloirs around Jackson Hole in my edit “Gettin’ Sendy”. Tons of ski lines in the backcountry off the tram, sketchy couloirs, blower powder and sending some huge frontflips with Julian Carr. I also made it out to backflip the Palisades at Squaw Valley along with a few other sick in bounds airs.

Dropping

Watch my edit from Jackson Hole skiing crazy straightlines, huge airs and deep powder with a 90 foot superman front flip at the end! See what happens when a storm drops 59″ at Grand Targhee when Julian Carr and I tee off everything in sight. Shoulder surgery in the fall slowed me down a bit, but still hit the S&S Wallride next to Corbet’s couloir and the diving board cliff at Targhee!
